Chef's Dinner Series presents....Dining for Disaster Recovery (SOLD OUT)
November 12, 2017
Chef’s Dinner Series has joined up with Chef Kevin Roth, (whose restaurant, La Estacion, was severely damaged by Hurricane Maria) and top-rated charity Americares, (4 stars from Charity Navigator) to raise funds for disaster relief in Puerto Rico. Proceeds will be directed to the efforts of Americares' first-responders still administering medical and trauma relief in the most severely affected areas of the island. In a recent report from Americares staff:
"Our response team in Puerto Rico hand-carried $60,000 worth of medicine and medical supplies, some of which we delivered to a children’s hospital. With much of the island's infrastructure damaged or destroyed by Maria, health services are severely limited. The team reported an urgent need for water purification supplies, insulin for diabetic patients, tetanus vaccine and specialized medications."
At our dinner, we will receive an additional update from Americares CDO, Christine Squires, and a briefing about the state of the recovery as reported by Americares’ on-the-ground first-responders.
Please consider joining us on November 12th (Sunday) for a worthy cause, a fun time featuring a brief "Cuatro" Recital, hand-crafted cocktails Courtesy of Don Q, and Haute-Caribbean cuisine expertly prepared by CIA Graduate and Wolfgang Puck protege', Kevin Roth, featured on Man, Fire, Food . The exquisitely appointed venue for this fabulous event has been generously provided by our friends at The Townhouse, one of the premiere private dining spaces in the West Village. What could be better than fine food, a beautiful space and a great cause? Thank you for your consideration and support!
P.S.
If you can't make it, please consider chipping in what you can to support the effort. Gracias!
